The Illinois Cast Metals Association is a non-profit Illinois
association whose purpose is to develop, at a state and national level,
an effective legislative action program for the foundry industry, to state
the industry's position on legislation, regulations and any other governmental
activity affecting the foundry industry.
The ICMA works closely with the American
Foundry Society (AFS) to ensure that its members receive all benefits
entitled to them through the ICMA.

Objectives
The objectives of the ICMA are as follows:
- To build an organization of sufficient numbers so that it can safely
be said the association speaks for the foundry industry in Illinois.
- To retain an industry representative in Springfield, on a full or part-time
basis, to state the industry's position on matters affecting it to both
the executive and legislative branches of the government.
- To support and work with the American Foundry Society on federal regulations
and legislation, particularly with the Illinois caucus.
- To support the activities of other business organizations or general
legislation and regulations affecting business, i.e., taxation, workmen's
compensation, unemployment compensation, etc.
- To adopt a bipartisan approach to legislation insofar as this approach
is in the best interest of the industry, working with labor and other special
interest groups when their interests and foundry interests coincide.
- To develop economic statistics for use at the state or federal level.
- To develop position papers for state and federal use.
- To develop a team of foundry witnesses to offer expert testimony before
state legislative committees and regulatory bodies.
